Copyright Questions Post
1.Copyright is a form of protection grounded in the U.S. Constitution and granted by law for original works of authorship fixed in a tangible medium of expression. Copyright covers both published and unpublished works.
2.Copyright, a form of intellectual property law, protects original works of authorship including literary, dramatic, musical, and artistic works, such as poetry, novels, movies, songs, computer software, and architecture. Copyright does not protect facts, ideas, systems, or methods of operation, although it may protect the way these things are expressed.
3.Your work is under copyright protection the moment it is created and fixed in a tangible form that it is perceptible either directly or with the aid of a machine or device.
4.No. In general, registration is voluntary. Copyright exists from the moment the work is created. You will have to register, however, if you wish to bring a lawsuit for infringement of a U.S. work.
5.The United States has copyright relations with most countries throughout the world, and as a result of these agreements, we honor each other's citizens' copyrights. However, the United States does not have such copyright relationships with every country.
6.You can ask for it. If you know who the copyright owner is, you may contact the owner directly. If you are not certain about the ownership or have other related questions, you may wish to request that the Copyright Office conduct a search of its records or you may search yourself.
7.Under the fair use doctrine of the U.S. copyright statute, it is permissible to use limited portions of a work including quotes, for purposes such as commentary, criticism, news reporting, and scholarly reports. There are no legal rules permitting the use of a specific number of words, a certain number of musical notes, or percentage of a work. Whether a particular use qualifies as fair use depends on all the circumstances.
8.Only the owner of copyright in a work has the right to prepare, or to authorize someone else to create, a new version of that work. Accordingly, you cannot claim copyright to another's work, no matter how much you change it, unless you have the owner's consent.
9.If the movie is for entertainment purposes, you need to get a clearance or license for its performance. It is not necessary to obtain permission if you show the movie in the course of “face-to-face teaching activities” in a nonprofit educational institution, in a classroom or similar place devoted to instruction, if the copy of the movie being performed is a lawful copy. 17 U.S.C. § 110(1). This exemption encompasses instructional activities relating to a wide variety of subjects, but it does not include performances for recreation or entertainment purposes , even if there is cultural value or intellectual appeal.
10.Fair use is the doctrine that copyright material may be quoted verbatim, provided that attribution is clearly given and it is used for education or critiquing.
11.Plagiarism is the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own.

QR code response post
I think QR codes are very helpful and easy to use. They make organizing things very easy. For advertising, they could connect a hidden link to access a website. For education, students could scan the code to show that they did their homework or to see an assignment. They are very good for just using for fun to find out secret codes. They can help out grocery stores by putting the item name and product number in a code to make it easier to recognize the project.

Safety reflection
When Deputy Krupp talked to us and when we learned about online saftey, ID theft, and cyberbullying I think the biggest thing I learned was to use your common sence and be careful around other people. When I go to the mall or anywhere in public now I will take more caution in where I keep my information or what I say that could give away who I am. Also, online don't type in your information to unknown sites or don't buy items from dealers you do not trust. When you are talking to people online respect them, be nice to them, and use your netiquette. I found this information very helpful.

New Technology
In 2013, many new and exciting things will be coming out. Some of these things are the folding car, bendy screen smartphone, wristband charger, basis band, Lifebook, wearable video cam, and even an Xbox 720! The Xbox 720 should be launched on Christmas 2013. It will feature 1080p 3D support, blue-ray player, and DVR functionality. There will be two independent GPUs, and a CPU with four or six cores, one for Kinect, and the other for the operating system.

Identity Theft
You can take steps to guard your personal information by not showing people your passwords, updating your passwords, keeping your info updated, checking your accounts to make sure everything is okay, paying attention to your surroundings, and never sharing anything with people you do not know. I have never really given identity theft much thought before now because I never realized how serious it was. Identity theft is the illegal use of someone else's personal information (such as a Social Security number) in order to obtain money or credit.

Christmas Break
I really enjoyed Christmas break. Over Christmas break I did many things with both family and friends. I went sledding, played videogames, and just hung out with friends. On Christmas morning we opened presents and looked in our stockings. After that, my relatives came over and we had brunch and my grandparents told some stories. Then, they just hung out for the rest of the day.
I got some pretty cool things for Christmas. My favorite thing I got was a 39” LED tv. Overall, it was a pretty good Christmas. I did everything I had planned to do and I also got most everything I wanted. I hope everyone else got what they wanted too!
